Welcome to Class 4
Welcome to Class 4.
Here you will find out about this weeks homework tasks, information about what we are learning about in class, as well as photographs of us enjoying our time at school.
Hello and welcome back to the new school year. This term Class 4 travel back in time and to the continent of Africa, as we study the ancient Egyptians. No doubt some beautiful art work will be produced and research into the many facets of this subject will be undertaken.
A range of literature will be covered ranging from Roald Dahl to C.S. Lewis.
Number and Geometry will be the initial focus points in maths.
We will be having both an arts and science week shortly (more news to follow).
The children will need their PE kit on Monday and Friday (leave it here all week). Spelling test will be on a Monday, homework set on Thurs/Fri to be handed in the following Wednesday.
Also a reminder that Mrs Hutson will be in school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, while Mrs Fearnley at the helm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We're both looking forward to an exciting and super year - welcome back everyone!
Star of the Week
Our Star of the week is Zak for always working so nicely with the children in Class 4, especially during our topic lessons.
We're very proud, well done Zak!
All children are expected to read at home no less than three times per week, with an adult signing their diary. Two Dojo points will be awarded to those children who read five times a week. Three Dojo points will be given to those who read seven times a week. One Dojo will be given to those who practise a times tables in their diary. Spellings need to be practised, in their diary, ready for a weekly test - these will take place on a Monday. Speed square tests are completed on Fridays.
Homework - to be handed in on Wednesday 1st November
It is Halloween and All Saints Day...so...think...witches and demons in fiction, Macbeth, Roald Dahl, the Demon Dentist, the Worst Witch and any others that spring to mind. Invent your own or tell me about the ones you know. Gorgeous illustrations always go down well.
As always have fun.
P.E. Mondays and Fridays
Please make sure you have the correct kit at school ready for our lessons each week.
You will need both indoor and outdoor kit at this time of year.
World Book Day 2017
Class 4 thoroughly enjoyed dressing up to celebrate World Book Day. After our whole school assembly, we completed activities and shared our love of books.
Hey Diddle Diddle - learn the median, mean, mode and range.
Hey diddle diddle, the median's the middle,
You add and divide for the mean,
The mode is the one that you see the most
and the range is the difference between.
