Welcome to Class 4.

Here you will find out about this weeks homework tasks, information about what we are learning about in class, as well as photographs of us enjoying our time at school.  We will also add any information about clubs and competitions that the children may wish to take part in.  We hope you enjoy reading our class page.

Star of the Week

Our Star of the Week this week is Faith.

Well done Faith! for being an amazing member of our class - welcome Faith.

Expectations

All children are expected to read at home no less than three times per week, with an adult signing their diary.  Five Dojo points will be awarded to children reading five, or more, times per week.  Spellings need to be practised, in their diary, ready for a weekly test - these will take place on a Monday.  Speed square tests are completed on Fridays.

What we are learning about this term

All about the world in which we live particularly about global geography and the position of our planet in space. This also takes us towards studying the effects of gravity, air resistance and water resistance. We will listen to the planet suite and form art from a variety of stimulus including the music.

We will be reiterating all mathematical processes and revising our mean, mode and median song. Graphs and data handling will also be represented in our science investigations.

After our visit to the holocaust centre, the work in R.E. and PSHE will revolve around stereotypes, prejudice and tolerance towards our fellow man.

"The force is strong" with class four now and I know we are moving onwards and upwards towards the end of the year.

P.E.

Please make sure you have the correct kit at school ready for our lessons each week.

You will need both indoor and outdoor kit at this time of year.

Homework - to be handed in on Wednesday 19th July

Well here we are, the last homework of 2016/17, so let's make it a celebration of the year.

Present a double page spread of anything about the year you want to represent.

Think: Topics and trips

                                                                          Highpoints and hot spots

                                                                          Fates and friends

What are you proud of and what will you remember and take forward to next year, wherever you may be?

As always, have fun.

Hey Diddle Diddlelearn the median, mean, mode and range.

Hey diddle diddle, the median's the middle,

You add and divide for the mean,

The mode is the one that you see the most

and the range is the difference between.

We've learnt a song to help us remember the median, mean, mode and range. January 2017
