Music

Music is a unique way of communicating that can inspire and motivate children. It is a vehicle for personal expression, and it can play an important part in the personal development of people. Music reflects the culture and society we live in, and so the teaching and learning of music enables children to better understand the world they live in. Besides being a creative and enjoyable activity, music can also be a highly academic and demanding subject. It also plays an important part in helping children feel part of a community. We provide opportunities for all children to create, play, perform and enjoy music, to develop the skills, to appreciate a wide variety of musical forms, and to begin to make judgements about the quality of music.

Drama 

Pupils at Rampton Primary School are given the opportunity and encouragement to develop and demonstrate their creative talents to the full. As with all arts, drama involves imagination and feeling, and helps children make sense of the world. It does this through the creation of imagined characters and situations, and the relationships and events that they encounter. Through engagement in drama, our pupils apply their imaginations and draw upon their own personal experiences.

Peace Anthem Music Project

Back in 2023, a selection of our children took part in writing a Peace Anthem with musicians, organised by Retford Rotary Club. We are very excited to have the opportunity to take part in recording this song professionally and become recording artists, along with other schools on Friday 7th February.
