PE and Dance
At Rampton Primary School we believe that Physical Education and Sport have a vital role to play in the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of children as well as the role it can play in relation to a child’s spiritual, moral and cultural development. P.E. and sport are important in giving children the knowledge, understanding and the tools to make informed choices about healthy living and have a positive impact on their own health and well-being we are currently maximising the benefits of P.E. to improve academic performance, behaviour and social relationships, whilst holistically developing all children. It is a real opportunity for both teachers and children to consolidate and work on the values that underpin every aspect of school life.
We are proud to announce that last year our school achieved the Platinum School Games Mark, the highest level award, in recognition of our outstanding participation in school sports. Our pupils demonstrated fantastic engagement and teamwork, competing with enthusiasm in events against other local primary schools.
We are very fortunate to have two external coaches from Wright Way Sports teach PE across the school. This means we can provide the children with a broad range of skills to perform in many different sports. Our Curriculum aligns with the School Games events, therefore our children have the knowledge, skills, understanding and confidence to compete against other Primary Schools in Bassetlaw.

GOLD MEDALS FOR RAMPTON 🥇
Wow! Our fantastic five have done it again! After qualifying for the Bassetlaw Boccia finals in February, today our incredible team finished in 1st place… meaning we are through to the County finals! These pupils really do deserve it. Since qualifying in February, they have been practising their throwing techniques, developed new tactics and gained a better understanding of the game. I am so pleased their hard work and dedication has paid off. We are so very proud of them!! We will enjoy celebrating their success in tomorrow’s celebration assembly. A big thank you to Miss Voice, Mr Hunt and Retford Oaks Academy for having us. We are so excited to represent the entire Bassetlaw district! What an achievement.
RAMPTON QUALIFY
Five of our pupils went to Retford Oaks for a Boccia competition on Thursday 23rd February. In fact, this was our first ever Boccia competition…. the children only learnt the rules that morning, whilst having a quick ten minute practice with Mrs Roberts. We are absolutely delighted to announce that we have qualified through to the Bassetlaw finals! Our fantastic five played against eight other schools and finished within the top four. As always, we are so proud. On Wednesday 15th March, our Boccia team will be competing in the Bassetlaw finals for a chance to participate at the County finals.

Netball finals 9.2.23

Then, with tummies full of happy meals, we visited Sparken Hill Academy for a friendly after school. We watched our little Year 4s play their first full game of netball, after having a taster this morning. A huge thank you to Sparken Hill for hosting and making us feel so welcome, as always.
To say we left school early this morning, played hours of netball and didn’t return to school until 5, you’d think the girls would be exhausted but they sang their hearts out on the bus journey home! Such a wonderful day with our fabulous children. Well done girls!
Year 5 and 6 netball festival 13.10.22

An excellent performance this afternoon has led to a well earned 7-1 victory for Rampton! Mrs Gardener, Miss Reed and Mr Wright are so proud of how far these pupils have come. Tremendous effort, teamwork and quality on show. Definitely the best performance so far! What a wonderful way to end the term.
